83rd Annual Academy Awards
I was on the edge of the sofa until the end of the ceremony but – as expected – The King’s Speech won almost all the major Academy Awards. The film took Best Original Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Director and – the biggest prize – Best Picture.

Colin Firth won Best Actor and Natalie Portman won Best Actress for her role in Black Swan. The Social Network and Inception also scooped plenty of awards overnight.
Most Played Film Track
Rule The World by Take That from the film Stardust is the most played track from a film according to new research from PPL. The research includes plays on the radio, in shops and pubs & clubs.
Second place went to Dirty Dancing track Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes with The Time Of My Life and Pure Shores by All Saints from The Beach came third.
Best & Worst Celebrity Next Door Neighbours
Jeremy Clarkson is top for both desirable and undesirable neighbour
Who would be your most desired next door neighbour? According to a recent survey it’s Colin Firth. The multiple award winning actor is closely followed by Cheryl Cole (really?) and Ant & Dec. In the least desirable next door neighbour leagues Katie Price (Jordan), Jedward and Gillian McKeith came out on top.
“Home-made” Cooking
Can I use a jar of sauce and call my cooknig “home-made”? That’s the dilemma I had emailed to me this morning. Unfortunately 78% said NO! It’s cheating to use cooking sauce in a jar. There goes my “home-made” curry!
The Oscars 2011
The Oscar nominations are announced this afternoon and I look forward to hearing the top movies up for Oscars from 2010. I went to see Colin Firth in the King’s Speech last night – a superb film – fully deserving of a few nominations this afternoon.
