Summer Solstice
Today is the longest day of the year and English Heritage informed us this morning, by a Tweet, that 18,000 people turned up at Stonehenge to celebrate summer solstice.
Where Will You Holiday This Year?
Statistics reveal that more of us would prefer to stay at home and holiday at a forest resort or in the South West of England with a traditional Devon & Cornwall holiday. A third of motorists have cut car usage due to rising fuel costs so how will we get there?
What Did You See In Your Back Garden?
A fox dashed onto the pitch at Twickenham just minutes before England played Scotland in the 6 Nations. It must be the most famous fox in Britain as it was observed by 82,000 spectators and millions of TV viewers.
Have you ever had an uninvited guest in your back garden?
Back Garden Guests
Here are some of the guests that have popped by…
- 17 peacocks (imagine waking up to that site!)
- A family of hedgehogs.
- A pheasant perched on the garden fence.
- A snow goose that was blown off course on its way to the North Pole!
Confusing Census 2011
Here are some things that confuse us about the Census 2011.
- Why is question 17 blank?
- Why are people filling it in now when it says to do it on 27th March?
- Where is the space for middle names?
- Can I be a Jedi?
Are You Getting Enough Sleep?
The big question is how much sleep is enough and how much is too much? The average amount of sleep we get in the UK is 6.9 hours a night with Medway and the South East of England the surviving on the least sleep and Scotland getting the most. Why do they get more sleep in Scotland? Perhaps it’s related to having a little less sunlight?
