New UFO Files Released

Are we really are alone in the universe? Well 9,000 newly-released pages of UFO sightings might help to answer that question.

The 34 files from the National Archive cover the period 1985 to 2007 – with
photographs, drawings and RAF investigations.

A UFO in the skies of Medway, Kent?

Have you ever spotted a UFO above out skies?

Facebook Conspiracy

A group known only as Anonymous have created a YouTube video claiming that “Facebook has been selling information to government agencies and giving clandestine access to information security firms so that they can spy on people from all around the world”.

Should we be concerned for the privacy of our data online?

Things We Learned on Twitter

You Heard it First Here

Social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook are helping to speed up and improve emergency service responses to natural disasters and health emergencies.

Twitter

Tweet the latest news

The rate at which news can spread across social networks means that, in many cases, you learn about breaking news first online.

What did you learn about online recently?

  • Sarah heard about the death of Amy Winehouse first on Facebook
  • John found out about the new iPhone on Twitter.
  • Richard had first discovered the earthquake in Haiti on Twitter.

Medway Mile 2011

It was great to see so many people at the Medway Mile this year including The Worshipful Mayor of Medway Cllr Ted Baker, Reh Chishti MP, Cllr Mike O’Brien, Cllr Tristan Osborne and runners from the KM Group Bob Bounds and Dan Bloom to name a few.

The evening’s entertainment consisted of the fantastic Black Eagles from Tanzania balancing on each other’s heads, circus acts and a fire eater! It was all rounded off with a fantastic firework finale lighting up Rochester Castle and Cathedral. I had many phone calls congratulating Medway Council on such a great event. I hear that the Medway Mile 2012 is going to be even bigger and better. Watch this space!

Things That Make No Sense

Things That Make No Sense

This morning you were tweeting #thingsthatmakenosense to me:

  • Why do we have silent letters in words? Like “k” in knife and “g” in gnat?
  • When you’re overtired are you “over” being “tired”?
  • Why do people throw lit cigarettes out the car window?
  • When people use “real” or “official” on their Facebook or Twitter!
  • How can you “have your cake and eat it”?!

A Wet Windy Medway

A249 near Keycol Hill was closed this morning

Last night and this morning has seen a big downpour of rain in the Medway towns. Take care if you’re driving as there have been accidents on the A289 Wainscott Bypass near Four Elms roundabout,  the A2 and the A249 near Sittingbourne was closed for a while earlier due to flooding.

Mike’s Mindbender: There is an ancient invention still used in some parts of the world today that allows people to see through walls. What is it? ANSWER: A window.
