World’s Most Endangered Structures
“British Brutalist” buildings (those that look good on the inside but not so great on the outside) have been added to a controversial list of some of the world’s most endangered structures.
They include a library in Birmingham, a bus station in Preston and parts of the South Bank Centre in London.
Perhaps you’d add a Medway or Kent structure to the list such as the Pentagon Centre in Chatham?
Exotic Moths
The recent heatwave has seen hundreds of rare moths arriving in the UK.
Butterfly Conservation is describing it as the best migration for the insects in years. A variety of species, many that are usually only found in the Mediterranean, have turned up in the UK and Ireland as a result of the warm weather.
Hot, Hot, Hot!
Finally, is the summer we were expecting finally here? Medway and the rest of the UK will bask in an Indian summer today with temperatures set to soar to 28 by the weekend!
Forecasters say the unseasonable high pressure will bring highs of 25 today.
Bands Reunited
Today it’s been announced that Steps may be making a come back. Lisa, Faye, H, Claire and Lee back together again to bring us all the hits we forgot like ‘Tragedy’! The bands (dead or alive) you told me you’d like to see reunited included The Beatles, New Radicals, Bee Gees, Ocean Colour Scene, Bros, 3 Degrees and Queen.
You Can’t Curry Love
It’s true you can use curry wordplay on plenty of tracks and make a tasty sounding song. There were some classic suggestions for curry songs on the show this morning!
Here are the Best Curry Songs
I started the proceedings with A-HA and Tikka On Me.
Ray suggested some hot tracks like Arrow – Hot Hot Hot, Heatwave – Too Hot To Handle and Man Trans with The Spice of Life.
Wordplay soon took an active role in our songs about curry phone in:
It’s Bhuna Hard Day’s Night – The Beatles
Last Train To Bangla – ELO
Rice Rice Baby – Vanilla Rice (thinking Dancing on Rice!)
Pass The Japate On The Left Hand Side
Love Me Tandoor – Elvis Presley
Here’s my favourite… Chicken Tikka by Abba!
Finally, after a curry, you may get some Earth, Wind & Fire or the Ring Of Fire by Johnny Cash.
