Central Heating

Is it time to switch the central heating on yet? It is mid-October after all and after a weekend of nearly non-stop sunshine it looks like temperatures will dip in Kent by the end of the week.

Snow at the Peak District

A sign of snow to come?

There’s even been snow forecast for some parts of the UK with up to two inches expected on the Peak District, the Pennines and Snowdonia it may even come as far south as Devon.

In a snap poll this morning only a third of listeners living in the Medway towns have flicked the heating switch to ON so far. Expect that figure to rise by the end of the week!

Pumpkin Picking

Here’s something novel to do in Hoo. We’re used to picking our own strawberries but how about picking your own pumpkin in time for Halloween 2011? You can do just that at Beluncle Farm on the Isle of Grain – read more about pick your own pumpkins in today’s Medway Messenger.

Bands Reunited

Today it’s been announced that Steps may be making a come back. Lisa, Faye, H, Claire and Lee back together again to bring us all the hits we forgot like ‘Tragedy’! The bands (dead or alive) you told me you’d like to see reunited included The Beatles, New Radicals, Bee Gees, Ocean Colour Scene, Bros, 3 Degrees and Queen.

  • Frogs (that are still alive!)

Jekyll and Hyde summer

Our weather is being described as a Jekyll and Hyde summer – as soaring temperatures are expected to return by the end of the week.

Forecasters say that in the second half of this week Kent will see temperatures get back up to the early 30′s.
