Autumn? Best Time of Year!

I Like Autumn

Autumn Trees

Leaves changing colour on the trees

This morning, on reading an article in the Thanet Extra by my friend and radio colleague Johnny Lewis, it inspired me that September and the Autumn are one of the best times of year. Misty mornings, the changing colours of tree leaves and long shadows in the later afternoon before sunset.

This morning’s weather in Medway is super with highs of 21 forecast and a similar day for tomorrow. Hello September!

MyKey

Here’s something for concerened parents everywhere!

Ford are launching a car key, which will allow parents to limit the speed
their teenagers can drive at. The MyKey system can also be used to remotely turn the stereo system down - and block it altogether if seatbelts aren’t fastened.

The controls can also switch off Bluetooth technology so phone calls can’t be
made. It’ll be available next year.

Though liquid in nature, don’t push me too far; for then I will break, and the damage may scar. What am I?

Pocket Money Rise

Pocket money has risen for the first time in 7 years. It’s estimated that we’re now giving out £6.25 to each child in the UK.

My pocket money as a kid - if I was lucky!

Much more than when I was a kid!

Most Googled 2011

Amy Winehouse is the most Googled subject of the summer. We were also interested in Ryan Giggs of Manchester United and the Beckham’s newest family member Harper Beckham.

The Apprentice was the most Googled TV show and the movie we’ve been most interested in is The Inbetweeners.

The best of the rest include Wimbledon, Euromillions, Harry Potter and, of course, a British favourite – the weather!

This old one runs forever but never moves at all. He has not lungs nor throat but still a mighty roaring call. What is it?

What Did The Cat Drag In?

Items Cats Have Dragged Home

Cats are well known for dragging home unusual items. Christmas lights, a Yorkshire pudding and Playboy bunny ears revealed in a national survey today.

Look what the cat dragged in!

What “gifts” has your cat dragged home?

  • Half a snake
  • A teddy bear
  • Barbie dolls
  • The kitten from next door
  • Frogs (that are still alive!)

Jekyll and Hyde summer

Our weather is being described as a Jekyll and Hyde summer – as soaring temperatures are expected to return by the end of the week.

Forecasters say that in the second half of this week Kent will see temperatures get back up to the early 30′s.
